Nov 14 Auction Item Preview: A fine and large example of well listed British landscape painter Daniel Sherrin The Elder in the impressive original gilt frame. It shows an old fashioned Church at the edge of a small pond with a luminist sunset in the clouds overhead. Sherrin is a very well known artist who at one point was commissioned by King George V for a painting of Sandringham which still hangs in Buckingham palace. His record high at auction is $16,299 in 2012 at Pundole’s auction for a 16 x 24 painting very similar to this one.
